Befriend and command legendary elemental creatures in a Pokémon-inspired system for D&D 5E and Pathfinder 2E!

Imagine seamlessly blending the monster-catching magic of Pokémon with the epic storytelling of your favorite tabletop roleplaying game. Roll For Combat is bringing this ultimate crossover to life with their Kickstarter for Battlezoo Eldamon: Legends. Designed specifically for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition and Pathfinder 2nd Edition, this massive expansion lets you befriend, train, battle, and evolve powerful elemental creatures right alongside your traditional party. Whether you want to play as a dedicated eldamon trainer commanding a roster of legendary monsters, or you prefer to channel those powers directly as an elemental avatar, this project offers a wildly inventive way to add pet-battling mechanics to your tabletop campaigns without breaking the core game balance.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Name and Creator: Eldamon! Befriend, Train, Battle, & Evolve in DnD 5E & PF2e by Roll For Combat.

What It Is: Battlezoo Eldamon: Legends is a tabletop RPG supplement that introduces a complete, Pokémon-inspired monster-catching system into D&D 5E and Pathfinder 2E. It allows players to capture, train, and fight alongside elemental creatures known as "eldamon."

KEY FEATURES

  • Massive Creature Roster: The expansion introduces 156 brand new eldamon across 13 different elements (including blazing fire, surging water, sturdy earth, freezing ice, and crackling electricity). This includes 36 unique "legendary" eldamon.

  • 13 Monthly Elemental Releases: Rather than waiting years for content, backers will receive monthly PDF drops focusing on a new element starting in July 2026, eventually compiling into one massive final volume.

  • Trainer and Avatar Mechanics: Players can mix and match elemental powers to build their perfect eldamon combinations, or they can choose to play as an "elemental avatar," wielding the elemental magic themselves.

  • New Magic Items: The book features a treasure trove of new magical items specifically keyed to each element, enhancing the playstyles of both trainers and avatars.

  • Rich Worldbuilding: The lore of the eldamon and their elemental origins is detailed and narrated throughout the book by a quirky mushroom sage character named Professor Portobello.

  • Full VTT Integration: Digital players can get fully supported virtual tabletop modules for Foundry VTT, complete with evolving monthly updates.

REWARDS

  • Kickstarter Pricing: Backers can choose between digital-only PDF tiers, Foundry VTT modules, or physical books.

  • Options: The project is flexible; backers don't have to choose between D&D 5E or Pathfinder 2E until the campaign ends and surveys are sent out via BackerKit. There are also bundles to add on the original 162 eldamon from the first Battlezoo release, giving you over 300 total creatures.

  • Delivery: Digital PDF drops begin releasing monthly starting in July 2026. The final compiled PDFs and physical hardcovers (including standard and limited editions) are slated for delivery in mid-to-late 2027.

CONCEPT

The core concept is Tabletop Monster Catching. The creators at Roll For Combat recognized that many tabletop players love the idea of collecting pets and companions, but standard RPG rules often make managing them clunky or unbalanced. By creating a dedicated, parallel system, they allow players to embrace the fantasy of being a monster trainer seamlessly within their traditional fantasy adventures.

INSPIRATION

The project is heavily and proudly inspired by the Pokémon franchise and other monster-collection video games. Building on the massive success of their original Battlezoo Eldamon book, the creators wanted to push the boundaries further by introducing "Legendary" tier creatures. They designed this expansion to give both newcomers and veteran players an even deeper roster of monsters, rich lore, and advanced tactical options to capture the true feeling of a monster-taming adventure.
