What It Is The Roam SodaTop is a handheld, portable carbonation system built into a 32 ounce insulated water bottle. Instead of relying on a dedicated kitchen appliance, the specialized lid uses small CO2 cartridges to carbonate your drinking water on demand.

Three Second Carbonation The custom lid houses a rapid carbonation mechanism. With a single twist, it releases a precise burst of beverage grade CO2 directly into the bottle, transforming flat water into sparkling water in just three seconds.
Fully Recyclable Cartridges Unlike traditional countertop units that require you to mail back proprietary gas cylinders, the SodaTop uses small steel CO2 cartridges. Each cartridge carbonates a full bottle and can simply be tossed into your normal curbside recycling bin after use.
Triple Insulated Design The 32 ounce bottle features triple wall vacuum insulation. It keeps your carbonated drinks icy cold for up to 24 hours, or up to 48 hours if you add ice.
MirrorTech Interior To prevent your sparkling water from quickly going flat, the inside of the bottle is lined with polished MirrorTech steel. This smooth surface reduces nucleation sites, helping to preserve the bubbles and resist odor buildup over time.
Flavor Drops The system is designed to carbonate plain water, but Roam also offers specialized flavor essence drops. Once the water is carbonated, you can add a few drops to create customized fruit flavored seltzers on the go.

The core concept is Unbound Carbonation. The creators at Roam believe that enjoying fresh sparkling water should not tie you to your kitchen counter or force you to rely on expensive, environmentally damaging single use cans. By shrinking the carbonation technology down to the size of a standard bottle cap, they aim to give seltzer lovers the freedom to make their own drinks at the gym, the office, or out on the trail.
INSPIRATION
The project was inspired by the compromises inherent in modern sparkling water consumption. The engineering team recognized that while countertop soda makers reduced plastic waste, their heavy CO2 cylinders were annoying to exchange and impossible to travel with. On the flip side, buying cases of canned seltzer was expensive and created massive recycling headaches. They set out to bridge this gap by designing a compact, travel friendly bottle that leverages widely recyclable steel cartridges for ultimate convenience.
