AREX | AR Dive Computer Mask & AI Marine Life Identification
AREX ONE: Immersive vision, trusted safety | Certified to 120 Meters | Focus forward, not your wrist

If you are tired of taking your eyes off the reef to check your wrist computer while diving, Arex Vision has engineered a true heads up solution. Launching on Kickstarter, the AREX ONE is a scuba mask that integrates a built-in dive computer and augmented reality display. By projecting real time dive data directly into your line of sight, it allows you to focus forward and maintain total situational awareness in the deep blue.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Name and Creator AREX ONE: AR Dive Computer Mask & AI Marine Life Identification by Arex Vision.
What It Is AREX ONE is a high performance scuba mask equipped with a built-in dive computer and a transparent optical waveguide display. It overlays critical information like depth, dive time, decompression status, gas mix, and compass headings directly into your natural field of view while keeping the surrounding water fully visible.
KEY FEATURES
Augmented Reality HUD A compact optical display engine sends light through a transparent waveguide, placing a micro-LED display in your line of sight. Engineered for extreme readability in low visibility or bright sunlight, it allows you to monitor critical life support data without ever turning your wrist.
Intelligent Interface The system is designed to avoid cluttering your vision. When the dive is stable, the mask automatically hides non-essential data. You can reveal or hide information through a mechanical control dial that is designed for precise blind operation, even while wearing thick neoprene gloves.
Modular Expansion System The mask acts as a centralized tactical hub. You can add a wireless TX Pressure Pod to view real-time tank pressure in your HUD, or attach the Sync Dive Torch, a hands-free light source that tracks your head movements.
AI Marine Life Scanner An optional add-on module turns the ocean into an interactive encyclopedia. You can frame marine life in your natural field of view to instantly scan and identify species, saving your encounters to a companion app after the dive.
Deep Water Durability Forged from an armor-grade fiber-reinforced polymer chassis, the mask is built for the strict standards of technical diving. It is rated to 120 meters (13 ATM) and supports air, Nitrox, and Trimix modes.
40-Hour Battery and Buddy Lights The intelligent sleep wake system provides up to 40 hours of continuous AR projection for multi-day trips. The front of the mask features an integrated RGB LED strip that serves as a personalized marker or a buddy light to attract attention in murky water.
REWARDS
Kickstarter Pricing The campaign launched on September 22, 2026, and is massively overfunded, raising millions. Early backers can secure the mask starting at a VIP price of $999, which represents a 34 percent discount off the planned $1,499 retail price.
Options Pledges include the standard base mask with the AR computer. Backers can upgrade to packages that bundle the TX Pressure Pod and the Marine ID Scanner module.
Delivery The Kickstarter campaign concludes on November 21, 2026. The creators will gather shipping details and coordinate global fulfillment in the months following the campaign's end.
CONCEPT
The core concept is Context-Aware Diving. The creators at Arex Vision believe that looking down at a wrist device disrupts the diving experience and can slow down critical information transfer in high stakes situations. By putting the data right in front of your eyes using augmented reality, they aim to give recreational, technical, and closed-circuit rebreather (CCR) divers the same heads-up capability that fighter pilots use to maintain complete focus.
INSPIRATION
The project was inspired by the need for genuine, practical applications of AR technology. While augmented reality is often treated as a novelty in consumer smart glasses, the team realized it makes perfect sense in extreme environments where your hands are full and environmental awareness is a matter of safety. They spent years relentlessly iterating the silicone skirt fit and the optical engine to ensure that the technology speeds up critical decision making without distracting from the beauty of the underwater world.
