What It Is: The Avelo "Supertrainer" is a truly smart running shoe embedded with proprietary sensors that measure crucial biomechanical data, such as impact and form, in real time. Paired with an intuitive app, it leverages AI to provide personalized coaching, insights, and recommendations, helping runners understand their unique running signature and adapt their training to prevent injury and improve performance.
Key Features
Proprietary Sensor Technology (PRI): At the heart of Avelo is its patent-pending "PRI" technology. Miniature, uncharged sensors are seamlessly integrated within each shoe, precisely measuring the physical impact on your body, how efficiently you move, and your unique running form with every stride. These sensors are designed to last the lifetime of the shoe (at least 300-400 miles) and never need charging.
AI-Powered Real-Time & Post-Run Coaching: Avelo’s advanced algorithms transform raw data into actionable insights and personalized guidance.
Impact Score: Co-developed with biomechanics experts, this measures the biomechanical stress of each run, helping you understand how much your body can handle daily and weekly.
Resiliency Score: Factoring in your impact scores, this guidance helps you find the sweet spot between training and recovery, providing clear recommendations to "go hard, hold steady, or recover."
Form Radar: Continuously tracks your form, learning your unique running signature and flagging deviations (e.g., overstriding, asymmetry, changes due to fatigue) to help you be proactive about potential issues.
Efficiency Score: Reflects how well your body converts energy into motion, helping you improve performance and long-term progress.
Personalized Adaptive Training: Based on your Impact, Resiliency, Efficiency scores, and Form Radar, Avelo delivers tailored guidance including daily/weekly mileage targets, workout recommendations, and real-time audio cues (when running with a phone) to keep your form sharp. Over time, it will develop adaptive training plans that evolve with your progress towards your goals.
Designed for Performance & Comfort: The Avelo Supertrainer itself is engineered as a high-performance running shoe. It features a PEBA plate, which is more flexible than carbon fiber, providing a smooth and propulsive ride suitable for everyday running. The fit is designed to be snug in the heel and midfoot while offering a roomy toe box for natural splay.
Seamless App Integration & Data Sync: The shoes connect via Bluetooth to the Avelo app, which serves as your central hub for all insights and coaching. Avelo also syncs with popular wearables (e.g., Apple Health, Garmin, Coros), combining data for a comprehensive view of your training. The system is designed to record runs even without a phone or smartwatch present (though a phone is needed for real-time audio coaching).
