Heavy, tangled, and deafeningly loud corded air compressors have a habit of draining your energy before the real work even begins. Magpie Tech is looking to eliminate that misery from your workshop with AIROX, a radically portable, cordless dual compressor station. Weighing in at just under ten pounds, this compact powerhouse delivers a staggering 145 PSI of pressure, proving that you no longer have to choose between mobility and raw pneumatic power. Whether you are framing a house, airing up truck tires, or laying down a delicate coat of paint with an airbrush, AIROX is designed to be the only compressor you will ever need to carry.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Name and Creator: AIROX: 145 PSI Cordless Dual-Compressor. Just 9.9 lb by Magpie Tech.

What It Is: AIROX is a highly portable, battery powered air compressor featuring a built in aluminum air tank. It utilizes a dual motor setup to deliver professional grade air pressure and rapid recovery speeds without the need for a wall outlet.

KEY FEATURES

  • Extreme Portability: At just 9.9 lbs (4.5kg) and featuring an ultra compact form factor, the unit easily slides into tight gaps, car trunks, or underneath workbenches, giving you an infinite working radius on remote job sites.

  • Dual Motor System: Two 35 L/min pumps work in parallel to deliver 2.5 CFM, allowing the tank to reach 100 PSI in just 9.6 seconds. During continuous use, it recovers to full pressure in a blistering 6.35 seconds.

  • High Pressure Performance: The compressor delivers a maximum of 145 PSI, giving it enough sustained power to fire up to 200 nails per minute without pressure drops.

  • Oil Free Operation: The advanced oil-less mechanism requires absolutely no maintenance and ensures 100 percent clean air output, which is highly critical for painting and airbrushing applications.

  • Versatile Battery Platform: The system runs on a 21V 5,000mAh battery that can provide up to 5 hours of runtime depending on the task. Best of all, the platform is fully compatible with standard Makita 18V batteries, meaning you can use your existing power tool batteries right out of the box.

  • Low Noise Design: Compared to traditional clunky compressors, AIROX runs at a much quieter 85 decibels, significantly reducing operational noise and vibration in enclosed spaces.

  • Precision and Safety: It features exact 1 PSI step controls, a digital pressure sensor that triggers auto shutdown if limits are exceeded, and a physical fail safe valve for total peace of mind.

REWARDS

  • Kickstarter Pricing: Backers who already own compatible Makita batteries can secure the bare tool at an early bird price of $199. The complete grab and go kit, which includes the AIROX battery and charger, starts at $249, offering a massive 46 percent discount off the planned retail prices.

  • Options: Higher tiers include dual battery kits for users who want to stack power for zero downtime, as well as fleet bundles that provide five complete sets for professional crews. Optional add-ons include an AC adapter for wall power and custom 3M skins.

  • Delivery: The campaign funded instantly upon launch, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars. Global shipping to backers is currently estimated to begin in September 2026.

CONCEPT

The core concept is Zero Compromise Mobility. Magpie Tech believes that untethering your tools shouldn't mean sacrificing the heavy duty performance required by professionals. By pairing a real physical air tank with efficient dual pumps and high capacity batteries, they aim to bridge the gap between delicate precision tools and raw, brute force construction equipment in one seamless package.

INSPIRATION

The project was born out of the Magpie Tech team's own frustration with the cumbersome nature of traditional pneumatic tools. They realized that having to lug around a heavy tank, find a power outlet, and untangle cords was a massive bottleneck for workflow efficiency. They were inspired to engineer an "all around player" that could easily swap from inflating tires to detailing cars to framing houses, effectively replacing an entire garage full of specialized inflators and compressors with one sleek, intelligent machine.
