Double the Tanks, Double the Possibilities: Anycubic P1 Redefines Resin Printing

For years, resin 3D printing has been a one-material game. If you wanted to print a model with both rigid and flexible parts, you had to print them separately and glue them together. Anycubic is looking to change that workflow with the Photon P1, a new "industrial-grade prosumer" printer that introduces a unique dual-vat system to the desktop market.

Project Overview

Name and Creator: Anycubic P1: Industrial Grade Prosumer Resin 3D Printer by Anycubic.

What It Is: The Photon P1 is a high-resolution resin 3D printer designed to bridge the gap between hobbyist machines and expensive industrial tools. Its headline feature is the ability to use an optional Dual-Material Print Kit, which allows users to load two different resins simultaneously. This enables the creation of complex models that combine different colors or material properties (like hard shell and soft grip) in a single print run.

Key Features

  • 14K Precision: The printer utilizes a massive 10.1-inch 14K monochrome LCD screen, delivering an XY resolution of 16.8 x 24.8 microns. This allows for microscopic details and razor-sharp edges that standard 4K or 8K printers cannot match.

  • Dual-Material Capability: With the add-on kit, the printer supports two separate resin vats. This lets you print multi-colored models or functional parts with mixed material properties without needing to pause and swap fluids manually.

  • Industrial Mechanics: To ensure consistency, the Z-axis is built with an industrial-grade ball screw and dual linear rails. This robust setup guarantees a Z-axis repeatability of ±0.01mm, effectively eliminating the "layer lines" and wobble often seen in cheaper units.

  • Wave Release Technology: A new "wave" texture on the release film reduces the peel force by up to 60%. This is critical for printing with high-performance, high-viscosity industrial resins (up to 8000 cps) that usually tear apart on standard FEP films.

  • Smart Heating & Leveling: The system features Intelligent Leveling 3.0 and a heated vat that maintains resin temperature up to 40°C, ensuring successful prints even in cold workshops.

Rewards

  • Kickstarter Pricing:

    • Super Early Bird: Backers could secure the Photon P1 for approximately $499, a significant discount from the planned retail price.

    • MSRP: The printer is expected to retail for $799 or more after the campaign concludes.

    • Add-Ons: The Dual-Material Print Kit is sold as an optional upgrade, allowing users to choose if they need the multi-vat functionality.

  • Campaign Status: The project is currently active and has raised significant funding. It launched in December 2025 and is expected to ship units in early 2026.

Concept

The core concept is "accessible industrialization." Anycubic wants to move resin printing beyond just making miniatures and statues. By enabling the use of engineering-grade materials (like tough, flexible, or high-temp resins) and ensuring high repeatability, they aim to make the P1 a viable tool for small-batch manufacturing and functional prototyping.

Inspiration

The inspiration for the P1 comes from the limitations of current desktop technology. Most affordable resin printers are "dumb" machines that struggle with thick, useful resins. Anycubic engineers wanted to build a machine that could handle the "sludge" of industrial polymers while also solving the tedious workflow of multi-part assembly, effectively putting a factory-grade tool on a standard desk.
