CONCEPT

The core concept is Responsive Athletic Training. The creators at LUMISTAR believe that high intensity basketball training should not depend solely on having a dedicated rebounding partner or an expensive professional facility. By blending advanced quad camera computer vision with a mobile rebounding and passing unit, they aim to give athletes a fully independent, game realistic practice session that actively adapts to their movement on the court.


INSPIRATION

The project was inspired by the limitations of traditional, static basketball shooting machines that force players to shoot from the exact same spot repeatedly. Recognizing that real basketball is a highly dynamic sport, the engineering team set out to build a machine that can actually read the court. After testing early prototypes with over 300 users and professional athletes, they engineered a smart robot that drastically reduces the time it takes to get hundreds of quality, game like repetitions.
