4K Imaging | Smart Auto-following | 17.9 mph Max Speed | 10-inch Max Obstacle Jumping | Auto-edited Highlights

If you have ever wanted to capture dynamic footage of yourself but hated dealing with awkward tripods or asking someone else to film, Mondo Robotics has developed a highly capable solution. Launching on Kickstarter, Beni is an all terrain camera robot designed to act as your personal videographer. By combining rugged mobility with advanced tracking software, it independently follows you and records high quality 4K video while you focus entirely on the action.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Name and Creator Meet Beni Your First All Terrain Camera Robot by Mondo Robotics.
What It Is Beni is a highly portable, autonomous camera robot on wheels. It uses advanced obstacle avoidance and smart tracking to follow users across various terrains, filming cinematic video from dynamic angles without requiring a human operator.
KEY FEATURES
Smart Auto Following The robot utilizes advanced video tracking to independently follow subjects. It offers multiple shooting angles, allowing you to set it to track from behind, ride alongside, or orbit around you for professional looking shots.
All Terrain Mobility Built to handle much more than flat indoor floors, it comes with quick swap indoor and outdoor wheels. The outdoor treads provide enough grip for grass, gravel, and uneven ground.
High Speed and Agility Designed for action sports, the robot can reach top speeds of 17.9 miles per hour. It is also capable of jumping up to 10 inches to clear obstacles or stairs and will automatically right itself if it tips over.
Smooth 4K Imaging To ensure your action footage looks crisp, the onboard camera records in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. It also supports 3K at 60 frames per second and 1080p at 100 frames per second for smooth slow motion.
Companion Personality Instead of feeling like an industrial tool, Beni is designed with personality. It features expressive color changing eyes, nods and shakes its head, and can be customized with snap on ears and hats.
Wristwatch Controller In addition to a companion app that auto edits highlights, users can control the robot using an included wristwatch style remote equipped with a joystick for manual navigation.
REWARDS
Kickstarter Pricing Early backers can secure the Beni robot at super early bird prices starting around 499 dollars. This represents a massive 300 dollar discount compared to the planned 799 dollar retail price.
Options The core package includes the Beni robot and essential accessories like the interchangeable indoor and outdoor wheel sets.
Delivery The crowdfunding campaign launched in July 2026 and quickly exceeded its initial funding goals. The Mondo Robotics team is preparing for mass production and expects to begin global shipping to backers in October 2026.
CONCEPT
The core concept is Autonomous Action Filming. The creators at Mondo Robotics believe that traditional camera setups deter people from filming their best moments. By engineering a fast, durable robot that acts as a dedicated camera operator, they aim to help creators, athletes, and families document their lives naturally without constantly stopping the action to adjust equipment.
INSPIRATION
The project was born from a simple desire between two founders who wanted a better way to capture memories with their children. They realized that consumer robots were often treated as novelties that eventually ended up in a drawer. Drawing on their experience in autonomous mobility and optical imaging across Palo Alto and Shenzhen, they built a reliable, expressive robot companion that thrives outdoors and truly handles the work of an independent videographer.
