When a perilous situation arises, whether it is a remote hiking trail, a sudden accident, or simply a need for a reliable tool on the go, the ability to signal for help can be the difference between a close call and a serious emergency. Many everyday carry tools are bulky, heavy, or fail to provide a powerful signal when it matters most. What if you could have a life saving device so small it carries like a coin but so powerful it can shatter a window and scream a distress signal louder than a jet engine? LASTOOLX, a team of passionate engineers, is launching TinyBlast, a revolutionary titanium everyday carry survival tool now live on Kickstarter.

Project Overview

  • Name and Creator: TinyBlast: World's Smallest Titanium EDC Survival Tool by LASTOOLX.

  • What It Is: TinyBlast is an ultra compact, capsule sized survival tool made from aerospace grade TC4 titanium alloy. It combines a 120dB high volume whistle, a silicon nitride glass breaker, and a laser engraved SOS Morse code signal into a single, durable device. It is designed to be a reliable and portable safety tool for everyday commutes, outdoor adventures, and unexpected emergencies.

Key Features

  • 120dB High Volume Whistle: The TinyBlast is engineered with an optimized acoustic design based on fluid dynamics. This allows it to amplify even a weak breath into a powerful 120dB sound wave, which is louder than a jet engine. This high volume whistle is designed to be heard over great distances or amidst the chaos of an emergency, significantly conserving your energy when you need it most.

  • Integrated Silicon Nitride Glass Breaker: The end of the TinyBlast houses a high hardness silicon nitride tip, a material widely used in aerospace and military applications. This glass breaker allows you to shatter car windows for emergency escapes, providing a critical tool for seizing precious moments. The material is wear resistant and maintains consistent performance over time.

  • Engraved SOS Morse Code: The body of the whistle is laser engraved with the universal SOS Morse code. This provides a globally recognized distress signal, which can be a lifeline if you are unable to speak or call for help, allowing rescuers to quickly identify and respond.

  • Aerospace Grade TC4 Titanium Alloy: Made from TC4 titanium, TinyBlast is both ultra light and incredibly durable. This material is strong, corrosion resistant, and capable of withstanding extreme environments. The use of advanced CNC precision machining ensures the product meets demanding manufacturing standards.

  • Ultra Compact Capsule Size: TinyBlast is smaller than a coin, allowing it to be carried easily on a keychain, worn around the neck, or stored in a pocket without adding any bulk. Its seamless, integrated design minimizes failure risks and ensures reliability.

The Idea

  • Concept: The core concept behind TinyBlast is to provide a reliable, minimalist, and powerful survival tool that is always within reach. The creators recognized that in critical moments, having a dependable means of calling for help is essential. Their goal was to engineer a tool that is so compact it can be carried like a coin, yet so functional it could be a life saver.

  • Inspiration: The project was inspired by a real life mountain climbing incident where one of the creators became trapped without a working cell phone. This experience highlighted the critical need for a reliable, non electronic way to signal for help. Through extensive fluid simulations, titanium prototypes, and design optimization, the team developed TinyBlast with a mission to create a product that is not just a whistle, but a personal guardian of safety for everyday life and extreme adventures.
